Below you will find a Year 5 remote learning timetable. This is optional so please do not feel like you have to complete everything in this order at these times. We thought some of you may want something to follow. This timetable is very similar to the one we use at school so the children in Year 5 will be very familiar with it.

Hello Year 5!

As we all know, we will now be working remotely. If you have any questions, please email us via Purple Mash.

As well as the daily English, Maths and Topic lessons we will set, we are also expecting you to:

  • Read at home every day. This can be your Star Reader book or a book from home.

  • Practise your times tables every day for 15 minutes. This can be done on Times Tables Rock Stars.

  • We will be posting two PE video links a week for you to complete. Please stay as active as you can during this time.

  • Practise your spellings and handwriting daily.

  • Send us pictures of your completed work everyday via Purple Mash Email

  • If you usually access Lexia or Flash Academy at school, please log in at home and complete your activities for at least 30 minutes 3 times a week.

Important Information

P.E. is on a Monday and Wednesday for both classes. We ask for children to come to school wearing their P.E. kit, as well as bringing a drinks bottle. Children are expected to wear black jogging bottoms or shorts (summer), white t-shirt, black plimsolls or trainers and a sports jumper.

We change our books on a Tuesday and a Thursday. We ask our parents to read with their child every night.

Spellings will be given out on a Monday afternoon, and a spelling test will take place on the Friday.

Homework will be sent out on a Friday and should be completed and handed in by the following Tuesday. We ask for you to hand it in then, as we will need to isolate the books for 72 hours before we can mark and hand the homework books back on on the Friday.

Additional Information

Drinks bottles should be cleaned and refilled every day.

Children should only bring their coat, reading book, packed lunch and drinks bottle into school everyday.

We ask for children not to bring in toys for golden time due to the current situation.

We ask for children not to bring in sweets for their birthday as we will be unable to share these due to the current situation.
