Dear children, parents, carers and visitors,
We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on and this website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.
Thank you for showing an interest in our school and welcome to our website. We hope that you will find the information that we provide here useful. However, if there is something that we have omitted then please contact us and let us know; we want to make the site as useful as possible to our community.
Our latest Ofsted Report from September 2016 shows how much the school has improved over the last five years. The staff work extremely hard on behalf of our children ensuring that children leave Fosse ready for the challenges of Secondary school. We have high expectations for everyone at Fosse and, as an ethnically diverse school with children from all over the world and, at the last count, thirty six languages spoken by our families, we offer a curriculum which supports all children according to their need, regardless of their age, gender, disability, religion, belief, race or socio-economic background.
We are also pleased to offer an increasing range of after school clubs as well as a breakfast club before school. We are currently running a trial of after school care that runs every day until 6.00pm.
Although we focus primarily on the academic education of our pupils, we look carefully at the whole child. We aim to create an increasingly inclusive school where all children are valued and supported according to their needs. The mobile building on the car park is home to 'The Island' where we support children who benefit from working in a much smaller group; this provision has supported children from Year 1 to Year 4 to develop in confidence in order to access the wider curriculum more successfully. We also have a part-time Family Support Facilitator to support families who may be experiencing difficulties.
I hope this gives you a small insight into how we work at Fosse Primary School. I am extremely proud of the way that staff, children and parents are working so hard together to ensure that we continue to improve. If you are a prospective parent please come to the school to have a look round and have a chat - I think you will find us to be a friendly and welcoming school. Working closely with families will help us to do the very best we can for every child that comes to Fosse.
