Zog

Today we are reading 'Zog' by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler.

We will be reading the story in the morning Zoom, but if you want to listen again, please watch the video below.

Topic Activity:

In the story Zog goes to Dragon School to learn lots of new skills.

Talk about the story with your adult.

What is Zog good at?

How do you think Zog feels when he does well with his learning?

How do you feel when you learn something new?

Today you are going to draw a picture to show something that makes you feel proud of yourself.

Maybe you have learnt to ride a bike...maybe you are still learning but you aren't giving up...that's something to feel proud of. Zog didn't give up, did he!

Write a sentence to explain what you are proud of or something you are good at.

Your sentence might start with...

I am good at...

or

I am proud of...

Monkey Puzzle

Today we are reading 'Monkey Puzzle' by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler.

We will be reading the story in the morning Zoom, but if you want to listen again, please watch the video below.

Topic Activity:

In the story the young monkey has lost his Mum and the butterfly tries to help him find her.

But the butterfly doesn’t know that the young monkey and his Mum match!

When objects match, it means they look the same.

But not all young, baby animals look the same as their adult Mum or Dad!

Today you need to play a matching pairs game.

If you have collected a paper pack from school, there is an adult / young animal game to play.

You could draw your own animals to make a game.

You could play a matching pairs game that you have at home.

You could play one of the matching pairs games on Mini Mash. Click on the green table and then click to the second screen of games to find lots of different pairs games.
