It’s world book day this week. So, we are going to complete lots of fun activities all week to celebrate our love of reading! You can read together anywhere and everywhere, from breakfast to bedtime! In the park, on the train, on the sofa, on a plane reading and sharing stories can happen anywhere at any time.

If you want to explore more exciting events that are taking place this week, follow the link provided below.

Shared Reading
Listen to the story of Big Bad Bill. Can you tell an adult what happening at the beginning, middle and end of the story?

Who is Big Bad Bill?
What does the word ‘swag’ mean?
Who is ‘nobody’?
Why is Big Bad Bill scared?

Max and the Won't Go To Bed Show

Ladies and gentlemen! Boys and girls! Roll up, roll up, for MAX THE MAGNIFICENT and his world-famous show: putting off bedtime for as long as possible!
Cheer as he makes a cookie disappear (very slo-o-o-wly)!
Look for the activity sheets in your paper pack. Have fun!

Storyboard activity

What’s your favourite story? What makes you laugh, giggle and shout? My favourite story when I was your age was ‘Little Red Riding Hood’.

Can you draw pictures to tell me what happens at the beginning, middle and end of your favourite story? Good luck!

There's a Monster in your Book! Quick, get him out! Your task is to listen to the story and come up with your own ‘Who’s in Your Book’ character.
Here are some ideas to start with – for each of the character suggestions, try to think of what might happen in a story: a UNICORN, a CROCODILE, a SNAKE or a SPIDER!
