What is Mindful Colouring? 

Mindful Colouring asks us to focus on how we choose and apply colour in a design to bring our awareness to the present moment. It is about taking the time and effort to produce something more than what your child might normally do. Mindfulness can improve our overall sense of well-being. We feel more relaxed by paying attention to details and the present moment.

*Top Tip*

If you know your child may not be able to sit for the time it takes to finish a mindfulness colouring you can do one of these things to help:

  • choose one area of the picture to focus on
  • have a time limit on how long you would like to focus on the colouring
  • make the colouring smaller on your printer before printing
  • talk to your child about the colours as they colour
