Welcome to 5C!

Year 5 trip to the National Space Centre

History

In History, we are now learning about the Vikings. We have been looking at where the Vikings came from, how they traveled to England and what they did when they arrived.

We now know that the first raid was at a monastery called Lindisfarne. The Vikings were vicious warriors who raiding using a hit-and-run type attack. They looted and destroyed Lindisfarne, which shocked the country.

Monks believed that the attacks were due to the pagans still living in England. They also believed there had been warning signs such as: lightening strikes, whirlpools and fire breathing dragons.

Music

5C are currently working towards their Art Award. As part of this award, we needed to research a musician. We chose Adriano Adewale - the musician who helped us compose our song "Life is Moving" and perform at The Y Theatre.

Reasons to Move

People moving to explore, looking to be free

People moving cause of illness, searching for a cure

People dying cause of war trying to survive

People looking for somebody to be by their side

Together we’ll be safe and we’ll begin a new life now

Together we’ll achieve and make our lives so wonderful

I know there’ll be no harm sharing the world with everyone

Moving away from fear wishing for a silent night

People moving from the dirt wanting to be clean.

Overcrowded lots of people looking for some space

Work is difficult to find takes a master skill

Education’s so important makes my life complete

Together we’ll be safe and we’ll begin a new life now

Together we’ll achieve and make our lives so wonderful
