Hello, and welcome to class 3L!
To ensure that your child is making the best possible start to their learning, please ensure that you read with your child every night, as well as encouraging your child to practice their weekly spellings and times tables.
Children are expected to change their reading book at least twice a week, and should do so by popping their reading book into the green basket when they arrive at school in the morning.
Spelling tests are on a Thursday, with new spellings given out on the same day.
Our P.E. slot is now only on a Wednesday, with our new swimming slot on a Thursday.
Wow, what fun we have had in our Science lessons this term! We have been learning all about plants, their functions and importance to our world. We know what plants need to grow and thrive, and have used this knowledge to set up our very own experiment! We planted our own flowers and placed them in different places in the classroom to see how they grow. We placed some in the sunlight with water, some in a dark cupboard with no water and some in the sunlight with no water.
We think we know what will happen, do you?
We have enjoyed our Geography lessons this term. We have been learning all about volcanoes and how they are formed. We then used our creative skills to make our very own volcano in our DT lessons!
This term we have been investigating forces in science. We have been learning about magnetic force, friction and air pressure. We have enjoyed it so much, especially the experiments!
This week we have started to learn about multiplication and division. We enjoyed working in pairs to group amounts and identify the multiplication number sentence. We can already tell that we are going to love learning about multiplication and division this term!
This week we completed our history topic on the Stone Age to Iron Age. We have enjoyed learning about the history of such special events in time, during our topic lessons. To mark the end of our topic, we had fun designing and making our very own Iron Age Roundhouses!
Throughout the autumn term we have been learning about the Stone Age. In particular, we have been looking at diets and how they compare to ours! Today, we investigated their diets through looking at recreations of their poo! We had great fun and enjoyed practicing our archeologist skills during the lesson.
This week we have been celebrating the work of Roald Dahl. We shared our favourite story, The Twits, and created our own tricks to play on Mr Twit! We had great fun designing our tricks and spending some time reading our favourite Roald Dahl book.
